ABOUT ME
My Background
Charlie Rice studied graphic design at Bath Academy of Art. He has always wanted to paint and create pictures which he is now realising since retiring from work three years ago. His work is inspired by walks in the park, local landmarks and holidays in the Greek Islands. He has painted many dog portraits and is open to commissions.
He has been greatly influenced by his tutors Michael Craig Martin & Howard Hodgkin, who inspired his love of colour which is reflected in his abstracts.
In November 2019 he had his first solo show at The Lounge Bar, Brixton, his work in this show reflects his concerns for the environment, from the rain forest fires in the Amazon and Australia, to fracking in the UK.
He has previously exhibited in group shows at the first and subsequent Brixton Bugle Summer Shows held in the Tate Library and at Sprout Arts Tootopia exhibition and Saatchi Takeover 2020
